Triangular stone found in the Washbeck Green area of Barningham Moor, County Durham.
This stone is usually surrounded by heather and can be found towards the bottom of a colluvial wedge formed from a short scarp. The carving was first identified during English Heritage surveys, and was referenced ‘Barningham Moor 114’ by NADRAP and added to ERA in 2008. The different records state between 2-4 linear grooves incorporating cups on the northern sloping face.
This model shows 4 definite grooves and an extremely faint 5th.
