Rock found on How Tallon ridge on Barningham Moor, County Durham.
This stone was first discovered by Paul Brown in 2007, and is referenced ‘BAR40n’ in the 2008 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art in the Northern Dales’. Recorded ‘Barningham Moor 137’ by NADRAP, it was uploaded to ERA in 2008 with the following description:
“The carvings consist of a large, deep oval cup (0.09 x 0.06m) and a smaller, possible shallow cup towards the south end. To the north, a linear, possibly enhanced groove runs parallel with the northern edge.”
