Use: This particular type of stone sinker was used in Luheʻe, a method of squidding in which a large cowry shell was fastened on the top of the lure and coupled with a stone sinker. This particular technique depended on the fisherman’s ability to notice the tug on the line tied around his toe when a squid or octopus wrapped its arms around the cowrie bait.
