Under the lights of a packed stadium, all eyes were on number 44—Jace “Thunder” Maddox of the New York Comets. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, Maddox stepped into the box, calm and coiled like a spring. The pitcher delivered a high fastball. Maddox unleashed his swing—pure, violent, and precise. The smack echoed through the park as the ball rocketed over center field, disappearing into the night. Walk-off homer. Maddox rounded the bases to a roar of thunder from the stands, number 44 shining beneath the lights, a force of nature when it mattered most.
