Batavialand rijkscollectie colfslof OM11-2813D Model
Colfslof met een stukje van de steel. Bij de opgraving in 1992 van een overnaads gebouwd 16de-eeuws vrachtschip, gelegen op kavel M11 nabij het huidige Biddinghuizen, zijn zestien colfstokken gevonden. Voor zowel links- als rechtshandigen, in kinder- en in volwassenformaat, en om de handgreep resteerden zelfs nog delen van de windsels! Deze vondst gaf het schip de bijnaam het ‘Biddinghuizer colfschip’. Uit de datering van gevonden munten kon worden afgeleid dat het schip waarschijnlijk ca. 1540 is vergaan. Sixteen colfslofs were found during the 1992 excavation of a 16th-century cargo ship, located near present-day Biddinghuizen (Flevoland, The Netherlands). These were for both left- and right-handed people, in children’s and adult sizes. Some parts of the wrappings remained! The ship was wrecked about 1540
