More model informationAlso called Bangungot, is a vengeful spirit hailing from Ilokano folklore in the Philippines. It is often described as an old, grotesquely obese, tree-dwelling female spirit and is said to inflict death on those that dare disturb its wooden home. It does so by sitting on its sleeping victims and invading their dream space, causing sleep paralysis and fatal nightmares. To counter its attack and awaken from the induced nightmare, one should bite one’s thumb or wiggle one’s toes.
