More model informationThe Beinn a’ Charra is a well known Standing Stone which can be seen clearly from the Committee Road on North Uist. Although on a modest hill (only about 70 metres) it is visble from some quite distant sites, such as the Lanass Barp some 6 kilometres distant.
The stone stands on a low mound nd leans about 25-30 degrees towards the South. It s unclear if this is by design of from subsidence over the millennia.
As usual, the range pole is aligned North-South with red to North - placed to the east of the stone.
Unusually the opening view is from the north!
