Loughborough Bellfoundry Trust
An Iron casting case still containing part of the exterior bell mould; a loam ‘cope’, which consists mainly of a mixture of clay, cow dung and horse hair.
This case would be buried in the sand of Taylor’s bell foundry casting floor.
I had the opportunity to photograph the foundry as part of their heritage funding rennovation, and was recently invited back to take part in adapting the museum collection during the covid-19 crisis as part of the National Lottery culture recovery fund project.
