More model informationThis small bell was scanned by us for the museum “Haus der Geschichte BW”. This object has quite a dramatic story. When WW2 ended, an altar boy ran out of the church to ring the bell and tell everyone that the war was over.
Unfortunately, a soldier didn’t notice quickly enough and a shot went off, hitting the altar boy.
Sometimes it seems that something above us protects us from death. In this case, the bullet hit the bell (you can see the bullet hole) and penetrated the 1st wall. The fragments of the bullet were deflected - the altar boy survived without injuries but probably with a firm belief in something higher.
