“Packaging should be an integrated element of the product, conceived at the beginning of the design chain and not at the end.”
BICUNA originates from a specialization project in product design at the National University of Colombia. It’s an innovative shampoo container crafted from solid soap, which not only stores but also massages and displays its lifespan. Designed for the beauty brand Natura, BICUNA mirrors their commitment to natural ingredients and sustainable practices. Its name combines ‘Bi’, suggesting duality, with ‘Ticuna’, an Amazonian community using medicinal plants. This fusion signifies environmental relief by reducing plastics and embracing the circular economy, acting as a protective cradle for our surroundings. Furthermore, ‘Cuna’ (Cradle to cradle) alludes to the concept of sustainable reintegration into the product lifecycle, akin to a cradle that shelters and supports our environment
