Fossil specimen of the oyster Ostrea coxi from the Plio-Pleistocene of Sarasota County, Florida (PRI 40844). Specimen is from the collection of the Paleontological Research Institution, Ithaca, New York. Maximum dimension of specimen is approximately 7.5 cm. The small, round hole in the shell was made by a predatory snail (likely a moon snail). Model by Emily Hauf.
