Trench excavated in Dokes Field in July - August 2024 to the north of Bodiam Castle, as part of Bodiam100 - a partnership project with National Trust, Archaeology South-East and the Institute of Archaeology, London.

Geophysical surveys by the Hastings and Area Archaeological Research Group and Southampton University had indicated the presence of a routeway, potentially of Roman date, extending north-south across the field: https://heritagerecords.nationaltrust.org.uk/HBSMR/MonRecord.aspx?uid=MNA127902
