More model informationThe Bólido-case is carved from a solid metal-barrel on automatic lathes. No need for expensive forging moulds and even the polishing can be done in a single operation. This manufacturing method, called «Décolletage», is well established and highly competitive in Switzerland, even the leading German car-makers use this source extensively. Turning a part on a lathe is based on an axis and thus cylindrical, which is of course a severe limitation for design. By adding a second axis, Simon Husslein yet succeeded to create an archetypically unique form of beautiful, archaic simplicity. www.bolido.rocks
