Bony Pelvis with Neurovascular Supply from MRI3D Model
Bony pelvis with iliac arteries and lumbosacral plexus.
This is a 3-D model derived from a high-resolution MRI of a 25-year-old cis-female woman using Avizo and Blender processing. The imaging was produced at the Oklahoma State University Biomedical Imaging Laboratory in conjunction with the OSU Center for Health Sciences Center Neuroanatomy Laboratory in Spring of 2022. As it stands, this collection of models is the first in the world to render three-dimensional interactive models using scans from cis-female humans (living or deceased). All other medical and educational models on the market are extrapolated from cis-male data, using disarticulated organs and bones to render a “female” pelvic system. With the vast differences between male and female pelvic anatomy and the lack of human models, we thought it was imperitive that a series of models be developed to educate patients and students on cis-female bony, neural, vascular, and reproductive anatomy.
