Kisote style deformed bowl produced using foot operated bellows. Creator: Kensuke Aoyama at the Kusanokashiragama kiln, Japan.
Price: 7,500 Japanese Yen.
According to the artist, he invented the form by mistake when he was trying to make a plaster mold. He found the result very interesting and decided to make it into a product. Due to the production method all items are deformed, but but of the same design as shown in the model.
Width 20.5cm Height 5.5cm
The bowls are stackable, but Aoyama doesn’t recommend stacking more than 6 due to their shape.
Each and every one item has it’s own character and unique pattern.
Kensuke Aoyama is the son of master Sokei Aoyama (learn more about the master potter here). Kiln: Kusanokashiragama, Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture.
