German binding, early 16th century. Incunable. Brown calf over wooden boards; blind-stamped. On upper cover, concentric triple fillets forming an outer frame, within which a roll depicting a hunt; central compartment comprised of a three-sided frame, decorated with a repeating foliate stamp; inner compartment with a repeating eagle-in-medallion stamp; letter-stamped ‘Sext et de’ at head of upper cover. On lower cover, a double frame; within the second, the same hunt roll; central compartment of fillets in saltire, with the same eagle stamp in compartments formed thereof. Spine in four compartments outlined by fillets, and the same eagle stamp; old paper shelfmark lable at foot. Board edges tooled with double blind fillets. Brass bosses and cornerpieces on each cover; traces of clasps (missing) hinged to lower cover.
