Julius Caesar by Nicolas Coustou. The statue is unveiled in 1696 for the park of Versailles. The statue will be transferred from the Louvre Antiquities Hall to the Tuileries Garden in 1722, the date of which is inscribed on the statue. The terracotta sketch is now on display in the Girardon crypt and the original in the courtyard of Puget, two rooms of the Louvre museum.
