More model informationIn September 2023, during a low level of the Mississippi River, a small shipwreck was revealed along the banks at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Initially it was thought to be a common barge, but over time erosion has revealed components that show the vessel was self-propelled. It looks to have been built around the turn of the century, or as late as the 1920’s. Research to better understand this mystery wreck will continue at the site as river levels allow. For now, it is an interesting aspect of the history and archaeology of Mississippi River watercraft. For a view of the same wreck in 2018, see here: https://skfb.ly/6wBEA
