(Please don’t forget to turn on those HD textures ;) )
This Carbine Cartridge Box is a worn, but fine original example of the classic leather Accoutrement carried by Federal mounted forces during the Civil War.
I created this for the guys at Flying Squirrel Entertainment. They are currently working on a game called Battle Cry of Freedom. The end result needed to be as detailed as possible to the original boxes from that time (so a lot of small details at the correct positions etc). Love the eye for details they have :)
So this was a fun project to do. It’s been a while for me since I did this kind of modelling (I’m primarily an animator), so I had get back up to speed with the current standards.
For this project I decided to use blender as my modelling tool, and substance painter for creating my textures. I think the result came out pretty awesome.
Modeled in blender Baked mostly in painter -> got better results for the wood part from toolbag Painted in substance painter Rendered in Toolbag
