The Cave Bulb is a plant which can be found hanging from the ceilings of caves on islands of the borderworld, Xen. The plant itself is quite small, as it is a relative of the Xen Shoots species and its offshoots. The plant’s growth cycle is akin to an aspen tree, but each copy is somewhat different than the rest. First, the network grows a bunch of roots outward, and then the roots converge outside of the underground domain their roots formed at, creating what appears to be a skirt. Then, the bulb is formed inside the rock and grows out into the skirt, fitting into it and fusing the tissue together. Younger ones sre more spherical with less roots, as older ones are more oblong or even eliptical with many roots. Most of the time, Boids will enter the caves and eat these bioluminescent plants, as they are one of the few creatures that can get to the Cave Bulbs.
