More model informationcentral block of the funerary pillar of a wealthy merchant rediscovered in 1866 in the street of the former Athenee
The block represents reliefs of daily life on three sides. The main face features the last lines of an inscription. The commissioner had the monument erected for his brother and his parents, and, under a hammered archivolt, a family meal scene. On the lateral sides, we recognize, on the right, the woman of the house having her hair done, on the left, three workers tying up a bundle of goods (fabric/wool?). Above the respective archivolts remain the remains of a cart pulled by two horses and two figures with basket.
