Black Mask Piranha (Serrasalmus Elongatus)

The black spot near its gills makes this one stand out from the more common but still very rare Slender or Pike Piranha, the same latin name so this is a sub species. To buy one of these set me back over 300 euro’s, it was transported by an impressive bmw and was its only load, that explained a lot. Different from most piranhas this i more of an einzelganger so best kept alone
