A scan of a specimen in the collections of the British Geological Survey originally from the Royal Geological Society of Cornwall collection. You can clearly see the footprints made by several of the Triassic reptiles as they walked over a muddy surface.
We scanned this slab, which is over a metre square, using a Faro Focus X330 lidar scanner more usually used for scanning cliff faces and landslides as it was too large for any of our handheld scanners!
