The model shows a so-called ciborium. This is a host vessel that was created between 1300 and 1350 and is located in the Diocesan Museum of the Archdiocese of Bamberg. It is characterized by its diverse material combination of ivory, bone, wood, silver, glass stones, horn and parchment.

The ziborium was created using photogrammetry by Jacqueline Steinborn as a part of her thesis project for the MSc. Digitale Denkmaltechnologien at the University of Bamberg.
