More model informationThis is a laser scanned model of a caulking iron found in 2015 in downtown Toronto by Archaeological Services, Inc. during its excavation of the CityPlace schooner, an early 19th-century merchant vessel. It was discovered near the keel towards the stern of the wreck. It would have been used to drive caulking into the seams of the vessel. The wreck is currently located at the Fort York National Historic Site and is the subject of an archaeological study by scholars from the Nautical Archaeology Program at Texas A&M University.
