Sasanian Empire
Engraved seals and jewels are common and important objects of Sasanian art. Research on Sassanid gems shows that although the range of themes of gems seems to be very varied and diverse, they still express certain concepts and sameness with different forms. Sassanid art was the crystallization of a religious society whose characteristics were the great central power of the kingdom and the established and strong position of religion.
This clay seal belongs to the pottery collection of the Jondishapour Museum of Trade History.
