The raised molded letters “T” and “D” also appear on either side of the heel. The maker of this pipe style is Thomas Dormer, who was a pipe maker in London from 1748-1770.
The highly decorative clay pipe fragment was recovered during archeological excavations at the Fort Frederica National Monument. The Fort Frederica National Monument 3D Collection Project, is a collaboration with the University of South Florida Libraries and the National Park Service.
