Close helmet with skull made of two pieces, joined by four or more rivets along the raised comb, which has a roped decoration running from front to back. At the back of the comb is a tapering tube plume holder with single spiral line decoration and secured either side of the comb by two rivets. Its main edge at the brow and both sides of the face is plain. At the neck on the right-hand side is the spring button with radiating line decoration and catch for retaining the lower bevor, which are attached to the thin metal strip on the inside that acts as the spring. At the neck is an out-turned narrow flange, above which are four round-headed lining rivets with internal square washers and the remains of a thin leather lining strip. In Day book D SB27/32 page 92.
