Commonly listed as a Sheela-na-Gig this stone sculpture is located at a holy well dedicated to St. Brigit at Knockardsarriv near Castlemagner. A carved stone above the well notes it was erected by Owen Egan of knucknanufs (knocknanuss) a stonemason. The stone is dated 1787, but this is carved in lower script and not as deep as the other script. IHS can be seen in the centre of the stone. Local tradition says the carving came from Subutler church a ruined church with Romanesque features. The carving has a bald head, oval eyes with iris and a rectangular nose, and mouth. The neck is small and blends to the body from behind the chin. The Arms are raised and the breasts seen as crescent shapes. Stomach bloated. Wide hips, no vulva open, although genital area defined.
