Seeing this and other pharaonic coffins has been eye-opening for me.
It is all too easy to take it for granted that all pharaohs had stupendous coffins covered in gold, glass inlay, etc. Yet here, and in other instances, is a rather simple-looking coffin that wouldn't immediately jump out as being made for a pharaoh. I guess you could call it the "King Tut" effect for making casual people think that all royal tombs were overflowing with gold.
