More model informationA fragment of wooden comb with ten teeth of which nine are split in the middle. On the flat back is a pattern of crossed lines. This is probably a fragment of a weaving comb. Similar complete combs are shown in Petrie (1917, 54, pl. LXVI) where they are described being introduced from the late Roman Period. It was purchased by Wellcome at auction in 1924 from the Frankland Hood Collection. The sale catalogue states that most of the Hood items came from the Theban area.
