this started out using 3dcoats blob on plain and blob and the shape mode of drawing with rect and radius set. the idea of working this way comes from anton tenitsky. he recently released a tutorial called scaling scifi which is pretty cool. so i took some of those ways of working and made this crazy thing.
when i was done i wondered if it could be made into a realtime model so i decimated it and used 3dcoats uv mapping tools called clusters to map it. the mesh is a triangular mess and its uvs are not pretty by any stretch but it did kind of work at 4k lol. it was painted in 3dcoats paint room and exported from there. i used it to get more familiar with the paint room.
i will make another but instead of just winging it ill think more about actually being able to hand retopo it. that will intale thinking ahead and breaking things into parts that make sense and are more organized into easily retopo’d masses. more contiguous and convex shapes with relief for the details
