“Fir trees, members of the genus Abies, are evergreen conifers. They are primarily found in cool, temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere, spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. Fir trees thrive in mountainous environments with moist, well-drained soils and moderate temperatures. They are often dominant species in high-altitude forests, where they form dense stands known as fir forests.
