More model informationThree crossbows were found tangled and fused into a mass at the site of the Spanish galleon Santa Clara, sunk in 1564. A beer-stein shaped gunpowder-chamber from a type of small cannon called a verso, a ballast stone, and a hull spike are also in the mix. The iron and steel artifacts are covered by calcium carbonate-based concretion that formed on them while underwater. The entire concreted mass is approximately 80cm long by 30 cm wide.
