Data Gap Analysis and Uncertainty Visualization
Analytical data from two separate Remedial Investigations were used to model the volume of impacted soil above 1.0 µg/L . Approximately 1,200 soil samples were used to create this model. The resulting 3D ‘plume’ is shown here colored by kriging uncertainty. Areas of high uncertainty (warmer colors) are data gaps that were targeted for additional soil sampling.
This model and derivative versions were used for site characterization and data gap analysis, stakeholder and regulatory communication, and the design basis for the thermal design and implemention.
Buildings, interior walls and other 3D objects were instrumental for planning and cost estimation. 2D CAD files and historical architectural drawings were georeferenced and extruded in 3D space.
- 2D CAD drawings of low overhead clearance areas, trench.
- 2D CAD drawings of building layout, walls, exterior lines.
- PDF scans of 1951 building drawings used to digitize foundation objects.
