More model informationCCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) modulates 3D organisation of chromatin and in organising gene structure and expression in eukaryotes. It contains a set of 11 zinc fingers, of which ZF3-7 binds to the major groove of DNA. The Zinc finger domain consists of two beta sheets, followed by an alpha helix. The zinc ions are located between two cysteine and two histidine molecules located in the beta sheets and alpha helices respectively. This presentation explores and illustrates the binding of CTCF to DNA as well as the molecules and amino acid residues incorporated.
