Cup-Spouted Jar3D Model
This sherd is a fragment of a cup-spouted jar, found in Room 3 in Area B at Khirbat al-Jariya in the Faynan of southern Jordan. This vessel has some unique features that differentiate it from other cup-spouted jars found around the Southern Levant.
In general, cup-spouted jars were likely used to portion out valuable liquids such as olive oil, suggesting that this vessel was used by elites at Khirbat al-Jariya who had exclusive access to imported goods. This vessel was found in close association with other finewares, further indicating its use by elites.
