This lighthouse draws inspiration from the Aniva lighthouse, nestled in south-east Russia just north of Japan. In my rendition, an experienced and self-reliant fisherman has taken ownership of this beacon and ingeniously modified it to enhance daily life.
Among the standout modifications is a versatile crane, capable of a complete 360° rotation around the lighthouse. Utilizing its magnetic hook, this crane reaches out to retrieve shipping containers that drift ashore, potentially harboring valuable treasures such as clothing, assorted materials, or practical devices that greatly enhance his life on the island.
Furthermore, a discreet but highly functional addition lies beneath the surface—an underground dock meticulously crafted to provide shelter and safekeeping for his trusty boat. This vessel serves as his means to venture into nearby waters for fruitful fishing expeditions, ensuring a steady supply of fresh catch to sustain his solitary yet resourceful lifestyle.
