Diaporit Roman Villa

Located on the south-west side of Lake Butrint in southern Albania, Diaporit was occupied as early as the 3rd century BCE. The remains here are part of a large Roman villa complex, built in the 1st century CE and extended in the 2nd century CE.

Although abandoned as a palatial residence in the 3rd century, the site was revived in the 5th century as a place of Christian worship.
