Digitally Completed & Broken Plate (VCU_3D_2187)3D ModelNoAI
More than half of a green-glazed molded plate was found on the location where James Dexter, a prominent member of Philadelphia’s free black community, lived in the late 18th century. It was 3D scanned with a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner in the archaeology laboratory for Independence National Historical Park (INDE) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The vessel was archaeologically recovered from what is now the location of the National Constitution Center. This object is referenced as Independence National Historical Park, Catalog Number: INDE2420. Courtesy of Independence National Historical Park.
This model represents a digital reconstruction of the plate that has been digitally broken to create a mendable vessel that can be printed and used for public programs or as part of an outreach kit.
