A commemorative cairn, formed of pebbles from the adjacent beach, has been raised at the edge of the sand dunes, just above the high-water mark.
The cairn marks the ‘grave’ of the fictional character, Dobby the house elf, whose death scene and burial was filmed at Freshwater West, Pembrokeshire, for ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1’.
The cairn has been raised in piecemeal fashion by many, various and unknown members of the public. Many of the pebbles have messages written upon them by those who have placed them.
Our photogrammetry survey took place in May 2022. The site is listed in the National Monuments Record of Wales: NPRN704008 https://coflein.gov.uk/en/site/704008/
