Dod Law Excavation Site A (June 2007)3D Model
Exposed area of outcrop found near Wooler Golf Club to the southeast of Doddington, Northumberland.
The area was excavated in the 1980s. Cobbles belonging to an Iron Age camp covered some previously unknown carvings, so unsurprisingly the carvings predated the IA monument. Recorded as ‘Dod Law Excavation Site A’ on the Beckensall Archive, it was added to ERA in 2008: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=48
Historic England have scheduled the carvings and the Iron Age camp: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1002946
This model shows ‘area 2’ on site A, and is created from four stereo pairs captured by Kevin Malloy in June 2007. The imagery forms part of the NADRAP / ERA archive.
