Roman dagger scabbard. The scabbard plate was backed with wood, remnants of which have survived on the broken tip. The parts were connected by four ferrules welded together, two of which can still be seen. In addition, a rivet was also attached to the locating band, which is no longer preserved. The front scabbard fitting and the rim fitting are inlaid with silver and brass and decorated with red enamel inlays. Iron with silver and brass inlay, enamel; l 20,3 cm; 2nd century AD.
First field: depiction of a wreath in red enamel, with linear silver thread decoration in between.
Second field: Two fasces in red enamel and silver threads arranged in the shape of a roof.
Third field: Representation of a temple front with gable roof and acroteres in red enamel.
Fourth field: Medallion depicting the sun disk as a six-part rosette in red enamel.
Fifth field: Crescent moon with disc-shaped ends and a central image (?) in red enamel.
Sixth field: Palm branch with tip pointing to the right in red enamel.
