More model informationA partially excavated pit feature inside the southwest dependency of Alexander Spotswood’s Enchanted Castle (ca. 1720-1750). Artifacts recovered from the base of the pit included animal bone, corn cobs, peach pits, and a variety of ceramics including two redware milkpans. The bricks, stones, and other architectural debris seen at the top most likely collapsed into the subfloor pit sometime after the structure burned ca. 1750.
