Rochester Cathedral memorial located in the furthest west bay of the north nave aisle. Signed in block capitals at the lower centre: Bedford Sc / 256 Oxford St. London. Long inscription in memory of Francis Wrightson Robinson, Ensign, 56th Bengal Native Infantry who was killed at Chillianwallah Jan 13th 1849. His father was a Canon of this Cathedral in 1854. White marble monument in the form of an inscribed scroll, surmounted by a sheathed sword: above, within a wreath, is inscribed in block capitals CHILLIANWALLAH. Set against a black marble background. Inscription in mainly incised Roman capitals, with some block capitals, colour black (for transcription see Physick 1995, no. 3).
