More model informationA modern (2024) male Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) left maxillary canine from Southern Germany. Perforated bifaciallt with a hafted flake (hand drill) of Jura hornstein over 20.13 minutes and suspended sewn lingual to labial vertical with red deer sinew for 75 hours. This is 1 of 30 teeth comprising an experimental reference collection for evaluating archaeological usewear stemming from the production and suspension of European Upper Paleolithic personal ornaments. This model was produced with an Artec Micro automated desktop 3D scanner at the University of Tubingen’s Material Culture Laboratory.
