More model informationRectangular stela, showing a coiled falcon-headed cobra in front of an offering table. The position of the snake is reminiscent of Meretseger stelae of the New Kingdom from the Theban area, however the falcon head on this example is unique. Composite falcon-snake demons are known from the Egyptian underworld books, but it does not seem a likely identification in this context.
See Petrie Museum UC14439 for example of a Meretseger stela with cobra wearing falcon plume headdress, which may have been part of the same tradition as this stela.
