Feuerstein-Formation Oberlangheim (Lichtenfels)

This street outcrop southeast of Oberlangheim (Lichtenfels, Northern Bavaria) shows the nearly horizontally bedded marine sediments of the Upper Jurassic (Malm). The thin bedded marl layers alternate with massive limestone beds and form the typical Feuerstein-Formation (Malm Alpha and Beta, Bayerisches Landesamt für Umwelt, 2021).
