Nintendo style Game Controller Created for a hard-surface modeling and texturing assignment using Maya and Substance 3D Painter.
Modeled both high poly and low poly versions in Maya. Refined the silhouette of the controller to improve realism and better match the reference. Added full button geometry to the low poly model to improve silhouette and enable accurate normal/AO baking. Cleaned up topology to ensure there are no N-Gons and optimized the mesh for presentation.
Re-unwrapped UVs with correct shell scaling. Baked normal, AO, and curvature maps in Substance Painter for enhanced material detail.
Used a smart material base and adjusted with custom masks and generators. Added a hand-painted dirt/wear pass to highlight edges and emphasize handling areas. Imported and applied a Nintendo logo decal using projection mode and aligned it with reference placement.
Rendered in Substance Painter using Iray. Set up Sketchfab with adjusted lighting, shadows, and camera framing for clarity and contrast.
