Fishing hook, stoneage

Fish hook made of bone, very well preserved. Said to have been found on fields on a farm by accident. During the clearance of an old burial mound, remnants of a waste heap were found preserved. The soil from this was spread out and supposedly contained this fishing hook as well as servral other antiquities. Mixed settlement finds with elements from all periods from the Middle Mesolithic to the Late Neolithic, possibly also the Bronze Age.

Dated to: 3300-500 B.C.

Found in: Vik, Klepp, Rogaland - Norge (aprox 1915)
